Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few of the questions I find most owners asking me about my toys.
This is not a complete list so if you have a question you can't find the answer to here, or elsewhere on my site, then please use the contact us link to send me a message and I will answer it as soon as possible!
How do I clean and dry my item?
Please ensure you use either a pet safe detergent or no detergent in your wash cycle. Laundry bags can help contain shed hair in the wash.
Hammocks and Climbing Ropes: Can be machine washed where stated. Remove hanging clips from cage accessories before washing. These clips can simply be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Lower temperatures are recommended for drying fleece items.
Hanging Tunnels: Best hand washed due to the plastic mesh base support. Not suitable for high heat drying due to plastic parts. Simply hang to dry either inside, or outside if the weather is nice!
Dog Chew Toys: Can be machine washed and tumble dried
Dog Squeaky Toys: Can be machine washed. Squeaky dog toys may loose their squeak when washed but this is not common. You may need to squeeze the squeakers to remove any water that has entered them. Not suitable for high heat drying due to plastic parts.
Denim Bones: Can be machine washed and tumble dried. Denim bones may be un-knotted to ensure a thorough clean and to speed up drying time. Once clean and dry simply re-knot then plait/braid to play with again.
Cat Toys: Not suitable for washing. If toy gets wet air dry in a warm place as quickly as possible. Pellets will lose their shape once wet.
Can you make me a different colour?
All my denim is sourced from charity shops which means that I am very limited in what I can offer.
If I have the colour denim in stock to make what you want then YES!
Drop me a message at any time to ask about different colours for items. I will be happy to let you know what I can make for you.
Fleece colours are normally much more easily sourced from the fabric shop. so I can often get hold of other colours or patterns.
Please be aware though that sourcing other colours or patterns may increase the item cost for your custom order.
What size dog toy do I need?
I try to offer all my toys in a range of sizes so that you can buy the one best suited to your dog.
Each of the listings will offer a list of suggested breeds which that toy should be suitable for, based on their average adult size.
If you have a puppy then you might want to go down a size, but be aware that puppies grow quickly. You will need to ensure you remove the toy if your puppy outgrows it and the toy becomes too small.
If you have a dog who is a strong chewer then you might benefit from going up a size. A larger toy will not fit as far back in their mouth, preventing them from biting down as hard.
If you are ever unsure, or have a cross breed, then please message me with a photo of your dog and I will be happy to try and help you find the right toy.
How long do your dog toys last?
My toys are designed to be tough and durable but they won't last forever!
Every dog is different, but to give you an idea Jimmy the border terrier has had his squeaky triangle for over 3 years. Charlie the springer spaniel, his Squeaky triangle lasted over a year and a half.
So you will find your toys last less time or more time based on how strong your dog chews, and how much they play with them.
It's still fun no matter how long it lasts!
